Anyone whose ever been to my studio or whom I've photograhed knows exactly how much I love my job. You see, it never really feels like work! To me, that is the best kind of "job"to have. Meet R. R is looking to build her modeling portfolio. This means, for me, big fun. Yep, a chance to try new things, to shoot for myself and it gives me a chance to help her along the way.

R, can't wait to do our location session. Thanks for being such a good sport Monday. See ya Friday.

Practicing what I preach... I know it's not fun as a mom most times to get in front of the camera but it is important that you have images that include YOU in them...for your kids and for posterity. I feel your pain, truly. But I'm so happy I took my own advise and did it. These images were taken in New York at the Yaddo... a beautiful artists retreat in Saratoga Springs. I printed four images for a wall gallery for my home. I cannot wait to hang them. I can't wait to show them off. Finally, it feels so good to be over worrying about losing that 10 pounds before I do the family session. This is me. It is who I am today and it is more important to my girls that they have keepsakes of ALL OF US then whether I'm 10 pounds too heavy. When they look back on these heirlooms they won't be thinking that I was heavy, just that we had a great vacation, a wonderful photo session in a beautiful place and a special time together as a family.

Awww such a NICE family...okay a little play on words in case you don't recognize them. This is really the NICE family...really, Nice...(as if you haven't heard that before right?) Meet J and his mom and dad. I was lucky enough to have the opportunity, despite mother nature, to photograph part of J's senior portrait session this week. Of course, because we're on limited time, it has to rain the day we are scheduled. I don't mean just a little rain, I mean sirens and bolts of lightening, thunder rumbles, and power outages. Luckily, we didn't lose power and we at least got the study session in while Dad was in town. Fast forward 24 hours to today - yep, beautiful sunny skies, hardly a cloud to be seen and yet we still couldn't get the location session done.. Why you ask? Let's see park 1 under water from yesterday's storm. Park 2 under water from the storm. Urban session a no go due to firework crowds. Park 3 no go due to fireworks crowd. Old barn and historic house a no go due to line's down on the route not to mention awful construction. Sometimes you just have to listen to the signs. Really, what else could we do? Pull out grandma's chair and use the fields of course. We lasted all of about 20 minutes and the bugs ended the session. Well not really, we were just doing a few outdoors today and will finish the rest soon. Thanks J and D and D! Our time together has been filled with so much laughter. You make my job so easy! Promise next time Marie is out running she'll stop by to visit regardless if you are in your jammies!

I'm sure you've heard the expression "Cabin Fever" right? Recently, on my trip to NY, I was able to not only see "Cabin Fever" in progress but photograph it as well! Okay, it wasn't that bad...I mean really, how bad can it be on beautiful Lake Brandt with four lovely families, in a gorgeous cabin? Not bad at all!

It was great to see Carrie and Steve again, along with their kids and to meet the rest of Steve's family. Despite the rain and the chill and a bit of humidity in the air, we managed to get the session in. It figures, right, a week of really nice weather and on session day, it pours. Luckily, the clouds lifted a bit and we found some nice light both indoors and out to finish up.

Thanks again everyone for having me and my girls. It was a pleasure to meet you all and I can't wait to finish proofing your sessions. Be sure to lo0k for an email from me this week!

Ahhh vacation...is there anything so nice as a vacation? Even a working one is fine with me. It was great to head out of state and go visit friends of ours. We had a chance to meet up with M and R and their four boys while we traveled! Gosh how they have grown! Especially the youngest. It was great to touch base and visit. Thanks so much M and R for spending the day and sharing your family with us.

Awwww - is there anything as sweet as a mom and her son? I had such a good time photographing K and his mom over the weekend. Even though it was sunny, it was pretty darn cold and we had to put the jacket and the blanket on then take them off...Poor K just wanted to warm up. He was fine once we started walking around a bit. What a lovely morning at the park. We saw all types of wild life - two deer, Canadian geese, mallard ducks and an assortment of squirrels. K wasn't' sure what was going to come out of the woods next! Thanks for being such good sports. As always, it's a pleasure to photograph you!

A & J...sitting in a tree..K I S S I N G.

First comes love...then comes marriage...then comes....err..well um...let's not get ahead of ourselves here. A&J are such good sports...both outdoor sessions we've done have been cold! First in February it was down right windy and cold...then this weekend breezy and chilly. The weather didn't stop us though.
Gotta love a couple who aren't afraid to be a little adventurous! When I asked them to sit in the tree I didn't really have any idea why I wanted them there...Today looking through some of the images, the old rhyme popped into my head and I thought..ahhh how perfect.
Can't wait to finish proofing the session. Thanks again guys for being such troopers.
